Security Guard Training Program

In partnership with 494 Security Services, the Security Guard Training Program is a fully certified, 40 hour training program. Training is for 1 week, Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Acceptance into the program is subject to approval.  
Full subsidies are available to those who qualify.

Subsidies Available

To be eligible for a subsidy, you must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Unemployed, underemployed or low-income

  • A resident of Winnipeg 

  • Eligible to work in Canada

  • Actively looking for work

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number

  • Canadian Benchmark 5 or higher

  • Register with the PREP Employment Readiness Program

  • Attend an Orientation and Information Session

  • Complete a pre-screening interview and employment assessment

  • Attend a 1-day Employment Workshop Series
