ABOUT
The Daniel McIntyre / St. Matthews Community Association (DMSMCA) is a community-driven not-for-profit Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation that serves the Daniel McIntyre and St. Matthews neighbourhoods in the West End of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Our mission is to empower the community of Daniel McIntyre / St. Matthews to achieve social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing.
DMSMCA was created in 2008. Our major funder is the Neighbourhoods Alive! initiative of the Province of Manitoba.
OUR BOUNDARIES
Our neighbourhood catchment area boundaries are Portage Avenue (South), Notre Dame Avenue (North), Victor Street (East), and Ingersoll Street (West).
DANIEL MCINTYRE / ST. MATTHEWS 5-YEAR COMMUNITY PLAN
Community-based planning works best when residents create a vision for their community and identify their dreams and goals. DMSMCA initiates planning consultations every five years and we work with partners to create a 5-year plan to outline our (and your) vision for the community.

Every year I look forward to community gardening. I have to remind people to pick their squash in September!

I like the garden, and the parks, and all the friendly people here!

DMSMCA has helped me discover a love for gardening which I never knew I possessed. Gardening is not only fun, but among other things it is great for health reasons. I've been incorporating more vegetables into my diet from DMSMCA's weekly market and from my own plot at the community garden.
-Akech
As a West End resident I love living here. The bus service is great and there is always lots going on. At DMSMCA I use the community gardens. I even do my son's gardening!

I am so happy to have discovered DMSMCA about 2.5 years ago when I arrived from California during an unusual cold snap, colder than the planet Mars. The Staff helped me to survive, providing excellent resources, and one in particular, how to prevent cracked pipes, a new idea in my new Winnipeg.
I enjoy knowing my community so I decided to participate in some of the outstanding DMSMCA events like: volunteering to clean-up after some of the many socials, picking-up garbage after the snow melt, attending meetings in support of safety and healthy living, hands-on home maintenance workshops, meeting our elected representatives, and more. What an opportunity to meet fellow neighbours and the excellent Staff are available to assist you or make a referral. I use the print resources and the online newsletter is very upbeat and a fun read! Drop by and experience why I visit our wonderful community centre
